King Edward II had a relatively short reign. He ascended the throne in 1307 but was deposed in 1327. Also known as Edward of Carnarvon he had relationships with both men and women and is recognised today as someone we would refer to as sexually fluid.
Silver pennies featuring Edward II were minted at London, Bristol, and York and are small, just 1.85 cm in diameter, and weigh just 1.44g. The image is stylised and not a true representation of Edward.
